In some way's it's cute and sweet but occasionally you will hear baby, baby, baby and next thing you know you are singing along with Justin Bieber. It's endearing and playful and at one time our oldest started to call me Baby too. I almost thought it might have stuck but it didn't. Using Dave and Beth just doesn't seem as sincere now... after saying baby for ten years. My guess is that in the next ten years we will still be saying Baby. What do you and your spouse call one another?
My spouse and I call each other "love" :) we don't use each other's first names much either - I think I'd be shocked if it came out of his mouth! :)

ReplyDeleteAng & Jer. Everyone close to us calls us that. He so rarely says Angela that it almost sounds weird when he does. I call him Jeremy to break through his selective hearing! Sometimes I call him "Honey" but not often.

ReplyDelete"Baby" is used pretty frequently at our house, but I also somehow got into the habit of calling my husband "Lovey" (specifically named after Lovey Howell from Gilligan's Island)....and then my little cousins heard me calling him that and decided that I must be nicknamed "Dovey" so that together we are "Lovey Dovey" (they are preteens and decided this is the best way to torture adults.)

Aww, this is lovely! My husband hardly ever calls me Menekse, he calls me honey and sweetie a lot. They're our standard pet names, but on occasion I call him Andrew - usually if I'm really stressed or busy and need to get his attention quickly. But it always sounds funny when we use our names to each other now :)
