Each fall our Home and School board does an awesome fundraiser called the Calendar Tea. It’s such a fun event that I’ve enjoyed being a part of with my friends. Last year we did an enchanting Alice in Wonderland table. This year we went with a Back to School theme. It turned out fabulous and I can’t wait to show you all of the details.
We started off with our white table cloth and chair covers and added burlap. We used tin cans to hold a variety of fresh flowers. The letter A had to make an appearance.
We added a couple stacks of school books including a very old dictionary that normally sits on my coffee table. One of my favorite globes joined the party along with my lovely Number 5 from the very talented Evie Ivy.
The chair covers were tied with burlap ribbon. Our napkins were rolled and tied with twine. We added a crayon to each of them.
This candy jar was a Dollar Tree find. We filled it with alphabet magnets and I added a chalkboard label to the lid. A vintage staff liner filled with chalk added just the right touch.
My vintage school desk held extra plates and the perfect arrangement of babies breath. Our side table held sweet tea, appetizers and desserts. What was for dessert you ask? Of course we had to serve apple pie.
Each guest had a white dinner plate and salad plates in different colors. We used personalized chalkboards for each place setting which doubled as a favor.
Our guests also took home an apple with a jar of delicious caramel and the most adorable school bus cookies. Seriously these were too cute for words.
